Rescued by monkeys; now ready to marry

Sebunnya was abandoned in the wild at an early age, nurtured by monkeys, rescued four years later and slowly inducted into human life

The monkeys so loved the boy that they picked him, reared him like one of their own. That is the story of John Sebunnya, the little boy who was discovered twenty years ago, towards the end of the bush war, living in the jungles of Bombo among a tribe of monkeys.

"It was a big battle getting Sebunnya away from the monkeys who thought he was their own," says Bisaso.

"At first the idea of bathing was unpleasant to me," laughs Sebunnya. Since he was not used to human food, when he was rescued from the bush, Sebunnya was fed on fruits such as mangoes, oranges and bananas.

Later, he learnt how to eat cooked food. However, when he learnt how to eat human food, he still didn.t know how to hold it or how to use a plate. He used to eat his food on the ground.

"Uncle taught me how to walk upright. He took my hand and took me on walks. I used to fear people but am getting used to being around people," he adds.

The US Justice Department says math portion of Virginia Beach police entrance exam discriminates against black and Hispanic applicants.

Here's one of the questions that's discriminatory:

One sample question framed a problem in the context of police work: On Tuesday, Officer Jones worked the 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. shift. At 10:55 p.m. he was called to the scene of an accident where he remained until 1:30 a.m. How long past his regular shift did Officer Jones work?"

Looks like even third grade math can discriminate.

They compare results on a google search from two keywords or two sets of keywords.

The winner is whichever keyword or sets of keywords gets the most results.

A good chuckle, but didn't last long. It gets tiring.

An Egyptian ferry carrying about 1,300 people sank in the Red Sea overnight during bad weather, and rescue ships and helicopters pulled dozens of bodies from the water Friday, an official said. About 100 survivors in lifeboats were rescued.

An Egyptian Embassy spokesman told the British Broadcasting Corp. that "dozens of bodies of victims" had been pulled from the choppy waters between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as
the greatest of dangers to be feared.  To preserve our independence, we must
not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.  If we run into such debts, we
must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and in our comforts,
in our labor and in our amusements.  If we can prevent the government from
wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they
will be happy.
